Our Bootcamps are suitable for all ages, sizes and abilities. If you are willing to put in the work you will see some amazing results. Our Bootcamp sessions are run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6.30-7.30am and 5.30-6.30pm, we also offer our Bootcamp members attendance at our Tuesday Metapwr and Thursday Metafit HIIT sessions 6.30-7.05am or 5.30-6.05pm. You can choose to attend 2, 3 or unlimited sessions per week depending on your lifestyle and how committed you would like to be. Find out more about our Bootcamp Sessions Here.
Metafit & Metapwr HIIT Training
Metafit and Metapwr are forms of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) which is suitable for everyone. All movements are done using just your bodyweight (Metafit), or a combination of equipment and bodyweight (Metapwr). No matter your current fitness level or ability we can guarantee you will have an amazing workout if you put in the effort. It is a 30 minute high intensity bodyweight only training system that is challenging for all fitness levels as a standalone workout.It is an effective, time efficient, functional workout that requires no equipment, does not require choreography and takes just 30 minutes. We currently offer casual sessions or a concession card for Metafit and Metapwr. Casuals are $10 each and concession card $80 for a 10 card concession. At Wanganui Barbell we combine the best exercises from power lifting, bootcamp, callisthenics, Olympic lifting, bodybuilding and strong man type training to help you achieve the health, strength and physique that you desire. We do not limit our training modalities and we program to suit the class, so that means that we won’t let you bite off more than you can chew. We cater for the beginner through to the more advanced and can run the two streams simultaneously in our supportive small group training environment.If you have ever wanted to get stronger, faster and change your body for the better we will show you how. Barbell sessions are run by Kyle who has been a coach to the New Zealand Powerlifting Team Internationally and also is one of Amanda’s Coaches (Amanda was number 1 female Powerlifter in New Zealand across all weight and age classes in 2017) Remember there is no down side to being strong, however there are many down sides to being weak. Small Group Training
Are our current times not suitable for your lifestyle? Perhaps you do shift work, have children, or would prefer to workout with a group of your closest friends? Maybe you are a sports team trying to find an edge over the competition! We can offer Small Group Training at a time and place suitable for you. Just get in touch to discuss suitable times, style of training (Bootcamp or Metafit HIIT) and prices.
Mums and Bubs Training
New mum, or just want to take some time for yourself and focus on your health and fitness?? To be the best mum you can be you need to take some time out to do something for yourself. Come along to our Mums and Bubs Group Training running every Monday and Friday at 9-10am. You are welcome to bring your bub or small child with you to the session. We operate a very small session to cater for the fact that there will be children at the sessions.
With Two qualified personal trainers we can help you reach your goal on your own terms. If group fitness is not your thing, you have a specific goal or can’t make the Bootcamp sessions then ask us about our Personal Training. With discounts for booking 10+ sessions up front, we offer 30 minute or 1 hour sessions and can also discuss nutrition during these sessions to help you reach your goals faster. Whether you want to focus on getting stronger, feeling fitter and healthier or loosing weight, we can structure a Personal Training programme for you.
Do you want to discover how to assist your employees in being healthier, and in turn more efficient and productive? We can offer health assessments, work places health and fitness challenges and ongoing support by way of group fitness sessions or personal training for your employees. Your employees are your most valuable assets and should be treated as such. If you are interested in this please contact us with an estimated number of employees, budget per employee and how involved you would like us to be and we can come back to you with a proposal to increase the health and well being of your workplace.
12 Week Challenges
Each year we offer at least one 12 week challenge. Every winter we run a 12 Week Winter Warriors Challenge which focuses on keeping everyone active and healthy during winter. These challenges can be done through Bootcamp and on occasion we also offer the challenges at home. We provide at home workouts, workouts at bootcamp, nutritional advice and weekly challenges to be completed by all the challengers. We also have an element of biggest loser competition incorporated into our challenges for those whom weight loss is a goal.
Fitness testing can be undertaken in many different forms, throughout our Bootcamp intakes we alternate between a typical Beep Test and Max Strength format fitness testing and a more functional strength based fitness test. If you want to meet a certain goal, for example getting into the Police Force or Army, please do get in touch as we can arrange fitness testing for yourself, your sporting team or your employees and then implement strategies to meet your goals.
